Texas State Capitol

Hello ! My name is Marisa and I´m English teacher in Brazil. I´m in Austin for six weeks participating in a Program at the University of Texas for English teachers. In my free time I will share some pictures of the wonderful places that  I try to visit . One of my special experiences in this country was to meet  Texas State Capitol.

The Texas capitol is widely recognized as one of the nation' s most distinguished  state capitols. It was placed on the National Register of Historic in 1970 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1986. It' s a wonderful place to visit! Capitol tours are free and available every day of the week, with hours varying each day. Enjoy it!

Hi guys!  Good to be here with you again !   Bullock History Museum   Last Friday we visited the Bullock History Museum here in Austin. It was wonderful to know the History of the Texas. The permanent exhibit spreads over three floors and tells the story of Texas, from early Native American communities, about the independence and the modern era. It was really amazing I could explore the galleries about Texas History .  I had wonderful time and the special moment was the teather because told us about  the history the native people who lived here and work hard to buit the country.                                                                    The University The University has many beautiful places to see and takes a lot of pictures. The fountain is a marvelous place, transmit me peace. The squirels are the best atraction because they are so cute. They are so smart always going up or down from the trees. Lady Bird Lake - Austin

In this picture  I am at The Lady Bird Lake one of the most beautiful places I´ve ever visited.  It´s really pretty. At this lake you can get a board rides at a affordable price and taking  pictures for unforgettable  memories. The lake  has a beautiful view of the green area, provide a great place  to run, walk, soaking up the fresh air and great views.  It´s wonderful place to rest and appreciate the nature! 😊 In this day I was with my roommates, we walked around the park appreciating the whole place and  we t ook a lot of pictures. It was a wonderful day!

My diary At Austin University

  We arrived  in Texas  on  January 16 th, we got 26 hours to get here  since we left São Paulo.  We were welcome by Rachele and her team in the airport. The next day we had some instructions and went  for a sightseeing tour in Austin city. It was  an amazing experience. On Wednesday 18th we started our classes in The University of Texas ( UT Austin, UT, or Texas) is a public research university in Austin, was founded in 1883 and is the oldest institution of Texas System.  The week is very  busy. We have classes from 9 a.m. to 12:30. We have a break for th e lunch ad returned the  class at 2 o`clock.   My class finishes at 5 o`clock .   We have different activities during the week. This week we had Happy Hour on Tuesday. It started from 5:30-7:00 pm at Moody´s Kitchen Guadalupe Street. There were drinks, delicious food and good conversation.   We had fun a lot.
